Insurance

The Good Move carries all Colorado state-required insurance, including liability and basic cargo coverage ($0.60 per pound per item). For high-value items, you can arrange full replacement coverage ahead of time. While damages are rare, we stand by our work and are committed to fair, practical resolutions to make things right.

Simple Pricing

At The Good Move, pricing is straightforward: we charge an hourly rate based on the number of movers and the size of truck your move requires. If your move takes less time than estimated, your cost is lower.

We include a standard gas and mileage charge for travel, and packing materials (like boxes and tape) are billed separately. That’s it — no hidden fees, no surprises.

We’re proud of our upfront approach, and if you ever have a question about your estimate or charges, just ask — we’re here to make sure everything feels clear and fair.

Scheduling

Moves are scheduled with a one-hour arrival window. You’ll receive an email confirmation when your move is booked, a reminder the day before, and an automatic “on my way” text once our trucks leave Lafayette.

Cancellations &

Rescheduling

We understand that plans change. To keep things fair for our crew and other clients:

• 7 days’ notice: Your deposit is fully refundable.

• Less than 24 hours: Deposits are non-refundable.

Let us know as soon as possible if your plans shift — we’ll always do our best to work with you.

Move Day Readiness

To keep your move on schedule, it’s important that everything is packed, surfaces are cleared, and items are ready to load when we arrive. Loose or unpacked items can’t be moved safely.

If the scope of your move is larger than what was scheduled — for example, if you book a half-day for ‘a few items’ but the whole house is packed, we’ll move only what was discussed in your estimate. In many cases, we’ll have another move scheduled after yours and won’t be able to extend the time.

Clear communication up front helps us plan the right crew and truck so your move goes smoothly.

Weather & Safety

We move in rain and snow unless roads are officially closed. Please clear driveways and walkways so our crew can work safely. If you’d like extra floor protection during inclement weather, let us know at least 12 hours in advance so we can bring the right materials.

Heavy Items

We charge a heavy item fee for safes, oversized furniture, pianos, pool tables, and similar items. Please let us know about these in advance so we can schedule the right crew and equipment. Any additional cost will always be shared up front.

Payment

Payment is due at the conclusion of your move. We accept cash, check, all major credit cards, Venmo, and Zelle.

Per Colorado regulations, movers may hold items until payment is received — though our goal is always to complete your move smoothly and without delay.

Tips

Tips are always appreciated. A common guide is $5–$10 per mover per hour, depending on the size and complexity of your move.

Storage

Our storage is designed as a short-term solution to keep your items safe between moves. Access isn’t self-service — just let us know when you need something, and our crew will retrieve it for you. Standard hourly rates apply for this service.
